You Software has announced You Control: Desktops 1.3, its powerful virtual desktops manager for the Mac. You Control: Desktops provides superior customizability of the workspaces. Users can set custom backgrounds and have a unique set of files per workspace, making it much easier to segment tasks on different workspaces. This update includes support for Mac OS Leopard and added options for customizing how the desktops work.
Built upon the same underlying system frameworks as Apple’s Spaces, You Control: Desktops 1.3 is now compatible with both Leopard and Tiger operating systems, giving users all the convenience of virtual desktops without having to upgrade to Mac OS Leopard unless they want to.

In addition to creating task-specific workspaces, You Control: Desktops has highly configurable settings. Users can set different Quartz Extreme transition effects (such as a rotating cube), set whether to use screen edges as triggers for switching desktops, set custom hot keys to quickly switch desktops, and set options for assigning applications to specific desktops.
Among the new features in You Control: Desktops 1.3 are additional configuration options:
• Improved options for controlling the mouse edge switching behavior, such as delay timing and ignoring hot corners
• Improved control over cursor behavior after switching desktops
• Option for setting highlight color of the active desktop in the menu bar
• Added an additional Quartz Extreme transition effect
