WiebeTech has overhauled its line of Mac Recovery hardware andsoftware bundles, adding thier updated DriveDock docking products and Prosoft Engineering’s Data Rescue II software.
DriveDock+ is based on FireWire technology; the new versions add about a dozen features to the original FireWire DriveDocks. LED indicators give visual indication when a FireWire host is attached to the Dock, identifies power status on the +12V input jack and disk drive, and verifies that power output is operational. In addition, an on/off switch allows the user to easily power the drive up or down.
Data Rescue II sports: aCocoa based graphical user interface; assistant mode and expert mode operation; drag and drop recovery; double-click to open single files; optimization for Mac OS X 10.4 (“Tiger”); support for up to 10 times more file types for content scans than Data Rescue X; a Deleted Files scan; faster scanning and recovery; and more reliable file recovery algorithms.
Each Mac Recovery product includes a DriveDock, a FireWire cable, and Data Rescue II software. They’re available in FireWire-only configurations for both 3.5-inch desktop and 2.5-inch portable drives with pricing starting at US$199.95.
