Apple has started selling unlocked 3G iPhones in Hong Kong. You can order them online at the Apple HK online store. But will the iPhone work with SIMs outside of Hong Kong?
It may—at least that is what is insinuated on the website. “iPhone 3G purchased at the Apple Online Store can be activated with any wireless carrier. Simply insert the SIM from your current phone into iPhone 3G and connect to iTunes 8 to complete activation.”
Just for kicks, I tried to oder one and got the following page. Apple will only ship the phones to a Hong Kong address.

If these phone will work in the US, watch a flood of them for sale on eBay in the near future.
