Unity 3D has released iPhone Publishing, its game development platform for the iPhone and iPod touch. It lets developers build 2D or 3D, touch and tilt applications for the devices.

Features include a live preview, JavaScript and C# scripting, mesh rendering, occlusion culling, shader emulation, combiner-based shaders, PRVTC texture compression and more. In order to license and use Unity iPhone Publishing, developers must meet the following requirements:

° You must own Unity 2.x (Indie or Pro)

° You must be an approved Apple Developer for the iPhone and install the iPhone SDK (requires Mac OSX 10.5.4 or later)

Unity iPhone Publishing is an additional per-seat license that supplements an already active Unity license. It allows an unlimited number of titles to be published. Basic pricing is US$399 per seat and Advanced is $1,499 per seat (requires Unity Pro).
