For the first time ever, football fans will be able to download video highlights of the Super Bowl, and they will be offered exclusively through the iTunes Store, reports the Associated Press. The National Football League will make highlights from Sunday’s game available for purchase online the following day.
The download, in English or Spanish, will cost US$1.99 and will be viewable on computers or iPods. A 90-minute video of the NFL’s coverage of the Super Bowl will also be sold for $1.99. Video highlights from the NFL’s regular-season and playoff games have been available from the iTunes Store since September.
In case you’ve been visiting Mars and don’t know it, SuperBowl XLI (that’s the 41st, by the way) will be played this Sunday, Feb. 4, in Miami (it’s the ninth SB to be played in the city—a record). The Indianapolis Colts will take on the Chicago Bears. The Colts will make their first appearance in a Super Bowl game since winning Super Bowl V during the team’s tenure in Baltimore, and their first appearance since they moved to Indianapolis. The Bears will make their first appearance since their 1985 season in which they defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX.
