I was watching MacRumorsLive’s live Macworld keynote feed yesterday, and at at 9:24am, someone posted that Steve Jobs had died. I thought, what is going on here? Then at 9.27am one of MacRumor’s editors posted, “Retraction on Steve Jobs comment…we don’t know how that got in our feed. Steve did not die.”
At 9:29am “SEX ME” comes up, and after that, everything went downhill and X-Rated from there. Soon, their server went down; they had been hacked. Below is a statement posted on their website.
“Our MacRumorsLive keynote coverage was hacked today, inserting inappropriate content into the text and photo feeds. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to restore our services. The hack appears to be limited to the MacRumorsLive servers so forum accounts should be safe. We’ll continue Macworld Expo coverage on an ongoing basis this week, and will report on Apple’s announcements shortly.”
You can download a PDF transcript of the feed here. Start reading from the bottom of the page. Caution; content is X-Rated.
