Sony has announced the Sony Online Service, an apparent iTunes competitor, which will sell music, movies and books, according to a report at The Mirror.
Sony plans to make the service tie-in with its consumer electronics brands including the Sony Walkman range and its ebook readers like the Sony Reader Touch Edition. What’s more, Sony also apparently plans to allow developers to create apps for sale through the service just as Apple does with its Apple App Store, according to the Mirror.
