Some wishes for iChat Leopard

There are undoubtedly some nifty updates planned for for iChat in the upcoming Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”). However, I’d love for the instant messaging app to be able to make connections to land lines.
That would basically turn it into a Skype challenger, but one that’s packaged with every Mac. Of course, that is unless Apple used it multi-protocol capabilities to partner with Skype for the land line portion. (It doesn’t seem that the AOL AIM servers are going to add the capability anytime soon.) Such an enhanced iChat would certainly have a lot of appeal with more and more people switching to Internet telephony with the growth of broadband.
Speaking about iChat Have you ever wondered why we can’t add people to a chat by simply dragging and dropping their Buddy listing onto an ongoing chat? Seems like a natural thing to do.
I’m doubtful we’ll see these features added in iChat Leopard, but I can hope, can’t I?
