Freeridecoding has updated SmartBackup, a Mac OS X app for lightweight backups, to version 2.2.2, which adds French localization, SMB support for Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”) and other improvements.
SmartBackup performs backups to hard drives, network sharepoints, webDAV, USB sticks and iPods. It supports configuration via Spotlight “saved searches,” archiving of deleted or changed items, file exclusion, handling of multiple backup sets, one-click restore and automation using iCal, Automator or shellscripts.
SmartBackup costs US$21 for a single-user license; site licenses are also available. Version 2.2.2 is a free update for registered users.
