Singapore’s MobileOne eyeing iPhone deal

Singapore’s third-largest telecommunications company MobileOne, or M1, is in discussions with Apple to bring the iPhone to Asia, according to The Age. (Apparently, this wouldn’t include China or not, as China Mobile, China’s largest cell phone carrier, is also purportedly in talks with Apple about brining the iPhone to China.)

Mobile phone penetration exceeds 100 percent in Singapore and Montefiore said the competitive environment there remains challenging, notes The Age. M1 is Singapore’s number three telecommunications company.
