Sharp introduces new portable projectors

Sharp has expanded its Notevision series of DLP projectors with three new models: the XR-40X, XR-30X and XR-30S.
The XR-40X and XR-30X have a native XGA (1024×768) resolution and the XR-30S has a native SVGA (800×600) resolution. The units can project a image in virtually any room or run almost any application with vibrant contrast ratios ranging from 2200:1 (XR-40X and XR-30X) to 2000:1 (XR-30S) for realistic black tones, according to the folks at Sharp. The projectors can be used in virtually any lighting environment with brightness levels of 2600 ANSI Lumens on the XR-40X and 2300 ANSI Lumens on the XR-30X and XR-30S.
For color accuracy, the models incorporate a Condenser Lens Optical System. A 3x speed 4-segment color wheel with an enhanced white color segment optimizes white level and brightness. The XR-40X, XR-30X and XR-30S will be available next month for US$899.99, $799.99 and $699.99, respectively.
