SharedPlan Software has released version 2.0 of SharedPlan Professional Edition, with new Really Simple Syndication (RSS) and iCalendar publishing capabilities.

SharedPlan Pro is an US$199.95 project management application with the ability to publish plans, tasks, status, and other information. RSS stands for “really simple syndication” or “rich site summary,” and provides a simple and efficient means to broadly publish information to interested parties. SharedPlan Software has now applied that model to provide project team members a means of checking detailed project plan and status information without having to open the source plan document. When team members, project sponsors, or other associated parties open their browsers, their browsers can immediately notify them of the availability of new information, which they can access by clicking on a browser link.

By also publishing information in iCalendar format, SharedPlan Professional enables team members to view project activities directly in their calendar application, either in the calendar view or their to-do list. iCalendar is supported by Mac OS X’s iCal, Outlook, Mozilla Sunbird, and several other calendar applications.
