imageSamsung Electronics America has expanded its line of SyncMaster displays with the 245T, a US$799, 24-inch LCD monitor. The commercial monitor, designed for a range of professional applications including desktop publishing, CAD and graphic design, is now shipping and available.

The 245T monitor has a 24-inch, 16:10 wide-screen format, with a 178/178-degree viewing angle. It features a 1920×1200 resolution, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 6ms response time (gray to gray) and Motion Picture Acceleration (MPA) backlight scanning technology.

It features a height adjustable stand with flexible pivot, tilt and swivel capabilities, as well as an integrated USB 2.0 hub (one up, four down). The 245T model is further equipped with wall-mounting capabilities. To aid in reduced power consumption, the monitor employs Samsung’s Digital Power Management Signaling (DPMS) mode to automatically assess whether the monitor is in use and switches it to stand-by mode, which uses less than two watts of power. What’s more, the model is HDTV-Ready, and capable of supporting high definition resolutions including 1080p.
