This isn’t confirmed so take it with a grain of salt: according to a post on iPhone programmer Alex Curylo’s Under The Bridge blog, Salesforce.com may become one of the largest switchers of all time. Curylo’s source tells him that over 4,000 Salesforc staffers’ will be issued Macs when the leases expire on the current hardware.
Curylo says the reason for the switch is security. “You really couldn’t ask for a much better endorsement of your value to the forward-looking enterprise than being officially adopted by Salesforce.com, could you now? ” he adds.
Salesforce.com provides on-demand customer relationship management (CRM) services. The firm says that more than 41,000 companies worldwide depend on Salesforce to manage their sales, marketing, customer service, and “other critical business functions.”
