imageFat Cat Software has updated PowerTunes—which allows iTunes users to create multiple libraries, organize their music among multiple music folders, and share music and libraries between multiple users on a machine—to version 1.0.1.

The PowerTunes’ Dashboard widget now correctly saves a library’s prefs when switching away from it. There are also various bug fixes.

In addition to creating and keeping track of your libraries, PowerTunes also offers extra features to help organize your music. Users can copy music back and forth between their libraries while maintaining all their ratings, play counts, and other information stored in iTunes. This allows libraries to be split up into smaller ones, or merged together into larger ones.

PowerTunes requires Mac OS X 10.4.9. It costs US$19.95, though version 1.0.1 is a free update for registered users. Aa 30-day demo is available for download.
