PopCap announces plans for mobile version of Peggle game

imagePopCap Games has announced the forthcoming launch of Peggle Mobile, which will be made available for a wide array of handsets from all major wireless carriers in North America, the United Kingdom and parts of Europe beginning later this month.

Here’s how the game is described; “Peggle combines elements of pinball, pool and pachinko to create a completely different kind of game experience. The game challenges players to use skill, strategy and luck to clear progressively more difficult levels of orange pegs by firing a small silver ball from the top of the screen. Stationary and moving obstacles along with numerous power-ups and special effects combine with dynamically-assigned peg colors to make each level unique every time it’s played.”

Earlier this summer, PopCap also developed and launched Bejeweled 2 for the iPhone and iPod touch. Peggle will also be available for both devices. Pricing hasn’t been announced.

ArtOfWarfare Says:

Peggle is hands down the best game for iPod. It’s also the best game for $5. I’ve owned it for 6 months and I still play it more than once a day (almost have all the challenges done now.) Definitely got my moneys worth out of this.

Hopefully they’ll make a Peggle 2 (with a built in level editor maybe?) for the iPod Touch rather than just port it… they better add in support for wi-fi multiplayer and new challenges if nothing else.
