PhoneValet shines the Spotlight on Tiger

Parliant has updated PhoneValet Message Center, the Mac OS X telephonic tool, to version 2.2, which fully supports Mac OS X 10.4 (“Tiger”).

The first new feature to take advantage of Tiger is PhoneValet’s integration with Apple’s new Spotlight desktop search facility. Spotlight allows you to quickly locate files, contacts and email messages anywhere on your hard disk. Now with PhoneValet your voicemail messages, call recordings and call notes will show up too.

Now a search for a contact will reveal not only e-mail messages stored on the system, but offer access to voice mails and call recordings with that person as well. All this can be accomplished with a single Spotlight search when PhoneValet is installed.

Voice mail appears alongside e-mail messages in Tiger’s Spotlight search results. Calls can be located on the basis of caller’s name, telephone number, full-text comments and transcriptions (if entered) plus many other PhoneValet data fields. Call recordings are similarly located by Spotlight, as well as results from PhoneValet’s call log of inbound and outbound calls.

PhoneValet 2.2 is a free upgrade for registered users of version 2.x. For new users the cost is US$199.95. Users of PhoneValet 1.x can update to version 2.x for $99.
