OWC announces Mercury Elite-AL Pro Mini FireWire/USB 2.5-inch storage solution line

imageOther World Computing (OWC) has announced its new OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro mini, a bus powered portable storage solution line. It features a “quad interface” of FireWire 800/400, USB 2.0, and eSATA connectivity in a portable, no AC adapter required plug and play footprint.



Measuring 3.8×5.5×1.1 inches, the OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro mini offers storage capacity up to 750GB in its fanless, aircraft grade brushed aluminum enclosure. It sports 2.5-inch SATA hard drive mechanisms up to 7200RPM and even solid state drives.The new Mercury Elite-AL Pro mini line is available in six models offering a variety of speed and capacity options:

° 500GB 5400RPM 8MB Cache FW800/400+USB2+eSATA Storage Solution, $169.99;

° 750GB 5200RPM 8MB Cache FW800/400+USB2+eSATA Storage Solution, $249.99;

° 320GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache FW800/400+USB2+eSATA Storage Solution, $149.99;

° 500GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache FW800/400+USB2+eSATA Storage Solution, $199.99;

° 256GB SSD FW800/400+USB2+eSATA Storage Solution $839.99

The new OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro mini is compatible with Mac OS 8.6 and later including the latest 10.6 (“Snow Leopard”) and Windows 98SE or later operating systems.
