Orange Apps has released MicroKart for the iPhone and iPod touch. It’s available for US$ at the Apple App Store.
Built using the Unity gaming engine, MicroKart lets you race a toy Hummer around a 3D table, and living room. Users race against a computer opponent as they weave through cups and plates, and avoid furniture to complete the courses. Users steer their toy SUV using the iPhone/iPod touch’s native accelerometerr.
Although the initial version is being released for free, developer Brandon Pluim, says that future paid versions will include more tracks (including outdoor tracks), weapons, customizable cars, and more. Pluim also mentioned that update for MicroKart was “not far off”.
