No dock included with 3G iPhone

Recently, we reported that the new 3G iPhone will not work in current iPhone docks. Well now, The Sidney Herald is reporting that Apple will not be including a dock with the new 3G iPhones. If you want one, it will cost you another $US49. So, that really brings the cost of the new 3G Phone up to $248/$348, if you’re comparing the new model with the old.

The omission of the dock just adds to the mockery of Steve Jobs’ claims that the new iPhone 3G is significantly cheaper than its predecessor. It comes on top of the fact that the iPhone 3G is already more expensive than the first iPhone, at least in the US, once you allow for increases in AT&T’s plans.

This is just another example of deceiving sales tactics. Shame on you Apple. When are you going to be honest and advertise it like it really is?
