Dave Watanabe’s RSS reader, NewsFire, is now free. Previously it was US$19.95.
“After much internal debate, I’ve made the decision that as of today, NewsFire is totally free,” Watanabe writes on his blog. No feature restrictions, no ads, no cut-down ‘lite’ version … this is the real deal.”
NewsFire is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 and 105. Watanbe describes the RSS reader as a “turbocharged bookmark menu for your news sites.” It constantly checks for freshly published news from your list of news feeds and notifies you. NewsFire’s list of news feeds is animated just like iChat, so feeds swoop around as news is discovered, Watanbe says.
Don’t forget the Macsimum Easter Egg Hunt contest.
