New Zealand: Apple revamps supply arrangements

Apple has changed its supply arrangements in New Zealand, causing shares in its current sole distributor Renaissance Corporation to fall sharply, reports Computerworld.
Apple is moving away from its exclusive distributorship to a “multi-source” model, Renaissance says. The company’s shares were down 12 cents after the announcement. Renaissance says the change will allow some retailers the company currently supplies to purchase directly from Apple. Changes will also be introduced to Renaissance’s margin structure, to be phased in by Oct. 1. You can read the complete article here.

If Apple want to do anything in New Zealand why not open an Apple store? Renaisance is the one company in NZ that has supported Apple and Apples customers for a couple of decades and deserves not to be so blatantly undermined?
Not sure what apple are thinking here.
