imageMOTU has announced Digital Performer 6, the latest version of the company’s high-end, Mac OS X compatible, audio application, at this week’s NAMM show.

It features a redesigned user interface, which includes the ability to zoom in the Track window. Two new signal processing plug-ins are included: Pro Verb, a convolution reverb that MOTU says is very CPU efficient, and Masterworks Leveler, a dynamics processor that models the classic LA-2A.

Digital Performer 6 has a new, flexible track comping feature and includes support for Broadcast WAV files, which means your sequence’s audio files no longer need to be in Sound Designer II format. Also included in Digital Performer 6 is support for Final Cut Pro XML files and the ability to burn CDs.

Digital Performer 6 will be releases during the first quarter of 2007. It costs US$795. Contact MOTU for upgrade pricing.
