MyPublisher—which specializes in custom photo book software and manufacturing —will discontinue its iPhoto Plug-in after May 28. The plug-in lets you create albums in iPhoto but order them from the company instead of through Apple.
Instead of the plug-in the company is pushing its BookMaker software, which has been updated to version 2.2. The upgrade sports upgraded book styles, glossy book jackets, leather covers and bigger, deluxe-size photobooks. MyPublisher says you’ll still be able “access your iPhoto library, just like you always have.”
BookMaker is free software program for Mac users. It provides a photo book making tool. Customers previously using the Mac plug-in to print their iPhoto books at MyPublisher now can create and print their books using BookMaker. Photo book creators can drag and drop their digital photos into one of 120 custom layouts to create a book that can be ordered in Italian linen, leather hardcover or soft cover paperback.
