Cisco announced at Macworld that it is extending its web conferencing and collaboration portfolio to the Apple iPhone 3G to deliver a new mobile collaboration experience. The newCisco WebEx Meeting Center application allows users to actively collaborate in meetings by viewing what’s being shared, seeing the meeting participant list, seeing the active speaker and chatting with other meeting participants over 3G or wireless networks.
In addition, users can seamlessly move in-session web and audio conferences from an iPhone 3G to a Mac and Cisco Unified IP Phone, and vice versa. View a brief video showcasing product features here.
A future version of the application, which will be available in CY Q2, 2009, offers all of the capabilities of the Cisco WebEx Meeting Center application, plus the ability to view a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace participant list. In addition, customers will be able to ‘dust‘ Meeting Center and MeetingPlace meetings to and from an iPhone 3G.
The new Cisco WebEx Meeting Center application is now available for free download from the AppStore.
