Mozy delivers online backup service for Mac-powered businesses

imageMozy has announced what it says is the first online backup service designed for Mac-powered businesses. MozyPro for Mac extends the Mozy online backup service to the growing numbers of businesses using Mac desktops, laptops and servers.

Mozy provides automatic backup of critical information at a remote location, protecting against hard drive failure, computer loss or theft and natural disaster. MozyPro for Mac builds upon MozyHome for Mac, the industry’s first online backup service designed for Mac users. MozyPro now allows businesses using either Mac OS X or Windows to back up all their desktops, laptops and servers and manage backup and restore processes from a single, web-based administration console.

MozyPro also provides 24×7 phone support, network drive support and support for server applications such as iCal Server, Mail Services and Directory on Mac OS X Server and Exchange, SQL Server and Active Directory on Windows Server. MozyPro for Mac is available immediately.

It supports Mac OS X 10.4, Mac OS X 10.5 and Mac OS X Server 10.4 and 10.5, along with Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2000 and 2003. MozyPro for desktops and laptops costs US$3.95 per license plus $.50 a GB per month. MozyPro for servers costs $6.95 per license plus $0.50 per GB per month.
