Measure, a calculator combined with a 3,400-item database of numbers, has been updated to version 1.1. The upgrade of the Mac OS X app smooths the text in the Measures windows.
You can now enter a value and ask for it in specific units, all in one step. The “Convert” is smarter about which units to include in the results, taking the value into account. Measure 1.1 chooses simpler units for results, and the database is expanded and updated.
You can use Measures to to convert meters to feet-and-inches, figure out what you would weigh on Mars, multiply kilowatts by years, compare population densities and boiling points, and find the square root of an acre.
Measure costs US$25 for a single-user license; site licensing is available. Version 1.1 is a free update for registered users.
