McAfee releases VirusScan software for Leopard

imageMcAfee has announced McAfee VirusScan for Mac 8.6, an anti-virus solutions that’s compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”). It’s designed to protect Mac end points against malware and other unwanted programs (e.g. spyware) that can target systems.

This product can be centrally managed through McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator for company-wide deployment. McAfee VirusScan 8.6 also adds improvements in performance with file caching and support for incremental signature file updates. The latter feature reduces the signature size from megabytes to kilobytes (8MB verses 100KB)

VirusScan 8.6 costs US$24.99 for a CD version (single user license). An additinal year of annual ProtectPlus Gold Support is an additional $29.24.
