Tabula Digital has releases Math Evolver: Virus Origin, an US$19.95 Mac OS X compatible education math game. It has an ESRB Rating E10+ (Everyone 10+) for mild fantasy violence and is suitable for children in grades six through nine.
Here’s how the game is described: “The game captivates students with exciting visuals and relentless, first person action adventure while incorporating key algebraic concepts. The contemporary simulation format features high-end 3-D graphics, sound, animation and storylines comparable to those found in most popular video games.
“But make no mistake: the math game offers far more than action-packed entertainment. With five missions that embed lessons aligned with the standards of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and that adhere to learning research in the areas of math and gaming, these games are teaching kids pre-algebraic concepts in a way they’re not soon to forget.”
