Macsimum Migration Kit: Contact management software, part 1

(For those new to the column, Macsimum Migration is our term for companies moving from Wintel machines to Macs—or at least adding or increasing the number of Macs they use. A Macsimum Migration kit is an overview of Mac OS products for a particular occupation, such as dentistry, accounting, etc. This week we’re looking at part one of our multi-part article on contact management software for the Mac.)

AccountEdge

AccountEdge offers accounting and business management tools. It has 100 business templates and modules for checkbook register, customizable quotes, orders, invoices, customizable purchase orders, receivables/payables, payroll, inventory management, contact management, time billing, job costs, purchases/payables, credit card processing and director deposits. AccountEdge is compatible with Mac OS X 10.2.8 and higher.

DayLite

DayLite from MarketCircle is a business relationship manager. It’s built upon a powerful SQL database, and is designed to be “flexible enough to offer management at a bird’s eye view of the overall company or quickly drill down to examine each individual activity required to complete a sale.” Appointments, tasks and contacts can be linked to both projects and opportunities. DayLite is compatible with Mac OS X 10.3.5 and higher. What’s more, Marketcircle says it will offer full support for the new range of Intel based Macintosh computers. All Marketcircle products shipping in 2006 will be available in Universal Binary Format.

Keystone

Keystone is a FileMaker-based information system that provides schools with management solutions for keeping track of student and family data, faculty and staff data, emergency contacts, courses and sections, daily attendance, reporting and permanent records. The system is able to produce schedules, class lists, transcripts, grade and yearly reports, integrated email, mailing labels and name tags. Keystone is compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6-9.2.

Sapphire One

The Sapphire One accounting software from Australia is an integrated ERP solution for organizations of all sizes. It combines financials, asset management, payroll, human resources, inventory management, POS, supply chain management, projects and support for multiple currencies and companies. Sapphire One is Mac OS X compatible.

absoluteBUSY

absoluteBUSY is a Mac OS X, scalable solution that features Web based contact management and Web based project tracking.

Activity Manager Pro

Activity Manager Pro helps tour operators manage their business. Features include reservation management, contact management and basic accounting. Activity Manager Pro works with Mac OS X 10.2.8 and higher.

AdAgentPlus

AdAgentPlus is an integrated solution for advertising agencies and media companies. This system performs many tasks including contact management, job tracking, costing, estimating, and purchase order entry. Single or multiuser network versions are available. AdAgent runs under Mac OS X (10.0.4 or later) and Mac OS 9.x.

Address Book Importer

Address Book Importer is a Mac OS X (10.1 and higher) utility for importing data from tab-delimited files into Apple’s Address Book application.
 
Advanced SalesSmartz Pro

Advanced SalesSmartz Pro provides a sales management solution for growing businesses. It offers integrated pricing, quote, invoice, contact, email, calendar, reporting and mail merge functionality for Mac OS X.
Advertise-X

Advertise-X is an integrated project and budget management solution for advertising agencies. It offers modules for order and time tracking, accounting, contact management, mailings and much more. Advertise-X requires FileMaker Pro 5.5 or later running on Mac OS X or Mac OS 8.6.1-9.x.

Agent is a Mac OS X, multi-user database management system for photographic, hair, makeup and stylists agencies. Appointment

Appointment is a diary and scheduling application for managing people’s time and resources. It offers contact management, appointment and to-do features. Appointment runs under Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.x.

AquilaCalenderMB

AquilaCalendarMB is a tear-off menu bar calendar able to show one, three or six month calendar views. Contacts attached to your address book can be updated in place in AquilaCalendarMB. It’s compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 and higher.

ArchiOffice

ArchiOffice is a software solution for the professional architectural services firm. It encompasses advanced document management capabilities complete with Microsoft Word and Excel integration, accounting system integration, Palm integration and FileMaker Mobile. Features include contact management, project management, time and billing, calendaring, reporting, and document asset management. ArchiOffice is multi-user networked software program available for the Mac OS X, Mac OS 9 and Windows platforms.

Architectronica Information Management System

AIM is a set of integrated tools for the small to medium-sized architectural business. Built on FileMaker Pro, its modules include: Project Data, Staff Data, Contacts, Correspondence Manager, Detail Library, Construction Administration, Timecard, Fee Budgeting and Invoicing. Each module can be purchased separately. AIM is compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 and higher.

ArchOffice

ArchOffice is management and accounting package based on FileMaker Pro. Designed for small and medium businesses, multinational workgroups and independent professionals, it features: contacts and correspondence (emails, telephone dial-up and Web); business management, accounts and taxes; stock management; production management; reports, statistics, etc. ArchOffice is multiplatform and runs on Mac OS X or Mac OS 8.1-9.x.

AtoZ Business Builder

AtoZ Business Builder is business management software for Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.x. Its modules include contact management, calendars, to-dos, mailing and more.

BandAid

BandAid is a tool to track the activity of bands and musicians. It keeps track of gig dates, payments and contact information. You can use it to keep promo shots, as well as print lyrics and setlists. BandAid works with Mac OS X 10.1 or later and Mac OS 8.1-9.x.

Business Application System

BAS, which is Mac OS X compatible, features modules for contact, appointments and task management, as well as project management, accounting and reporting functions.

BestellWas!

BestellWas! is a merchandise and inventory control system for a small or middle size mail order business. Package modules include contact management, article and services management with automatic inventory control, accounting and mass mailing functions. BestellWas! works with Mac OS X (10.1.3 or higher) and Mac OS 8.6-9.x.

Big Business

Big Business is a client/ server solution that manages sales, contact, company, accounting, inventory and purchasing information within a centralized system. It includes the facility for online publishing of catalogs to facilitate Web commerce and Web presence. Local and remote users can be provided with access to the system through their browser. Big Business is compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 and later.

blue.office

blue.office is project management software for creative agencies and the service industry. It manages contacts and schedules, tracks correspondence and creates invoices. blue.office works with Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6-9.x; it also requires FileMaker Pro 5.5 or later.

boaTools

boaTools is Mac OS X, modular software for managing your business. The options available include: contact management (boaADRESS), email and time tracking (boaPERSÖNLICH), inventory control (boaARTIKEL), project management (boaPROJEKT), invoicing (boaFINANZ), web shop (boaSHOP) and accounting (boaFIBU).

The Book Group

The Book Group is a software package to help automate all the administrative activities in a book group. You can use it to track book group member information, their guests, meetings, books read, meeting minutes and more. The Book Grou works with Mac OS and Mac OS 8-9.x.

Bureau

Bureau is a modular office software package, suitable especially for freelancers and small businesses. It allows you to administrate contact data and appointments as well as keep your accounts. Bureau is compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 or later.
