Macs are becoming the personal computer of choice for workers infatuated with the iPod and iPhone, according to BusinessWeek. The article notes, for example, a Mac migration at Juniper Networks.
Michele Goins, the company’s chief technology officer, said she thought 25 percent of Juniper’s 6,100 employees would choose Macs if given the choice. As BusinessWeek points out, that follows a general trend. In the March quarter, Mac sales beat all forecasts, soaring 51 percent over the previous year, or more than three times the rate for the personal-computer industry.
And in a survey of 250 diverse companies that has yet to be released, the market research firm Yankee Group found that 87 percent now have at least some Macs in their offices, note BusinessWeek. That’s up from 48 percent two years ago.
