3] – Building Community: User Groups Spread the Word Via YouTube

On April 26 the Acadiana Area Apple Users Group (AAAUG) hosted their
first annual AAAUG Crawfish Boil in Lafayette to enjoy good times and
promote membership in the AAAUG.

North Coast Mac (NCMUG), one of the largest and most successful user
groups in the US, will host their famous annual Macintosh Computer
Expo this fall.

In July the Korean Mac User Group got together for a meet up, and the
members of Tokyo Max met too.

What do these groups have in common? They are all on YouTube promoting
the community, computers and fellowship that come from belonging to a
user group. Is your group on YouTube? Let us know.

5] – Saginaw Mac: MacCamp Continues to Please

The Saginaw Macintosh User Group and the Midland User Group co-sponsor

Michigan.

6] – Fun in the Sun: Groups Trade Meetings for Picnics and Swap Meets

Many groups hold a summer social gathering instead of a July meeting.
Diablo Valley’s Macintosh User Group holds their Christmas-in-July
picnic, while the Omaha Macintosh User Group holds their Website
Pot-luck. Apple JAC and Apple Cider have summer picnics planned, and the
Houston Area Macintosh Users Group will be holding their annual Swap
Meet this month too. Add in the OMUGfest 2008 in Oceanside and it is a
fun filled summer for Mac folk.

Does your group hold a special event in the summer? Let us know by
