MacBook Air with solid state drive not substantially faster than hard disk version

The 1.6GHz MacBook Air with a solid state drive (SSD) isn’t substantially faster than the 1.8GHz version with a hard disk drive (HHD), according to a report at ars technica. While the SSD was better in some respects, it was worse in others, and the net gain was not substantial, according to ars technica on Tuesday.

As expected, the SSD Air performed better than the HDD Air in most tests, as its clock speed is slightly higher. However, the overall disk test scores aren’t much different. You can read the entire report here.
