The Mac OS X and Safari market shares slipped slightly from September to October in the latest market share survey from Net Applications. The Mac had 8.21 percent for October, compared to 8.23 percent the previous month.
Among operating systems, Windows had 90.46 percent market share in October. That compares to 90.29 percent for September.
Safari slipped from 6.65 percent to 6.57 percent. When it comes to browsers, in October Internet Explorer had 71.27 percent and Firefox 19.97 percent. That compares to 71.52 percent and 19.46 percent for September, respectively.
On the bright side, the iPhone had .33 percent in October compared to .32 percent for September.
Net Applications’ monthly surveys don’t measure market share in terms of computer systems sold. Instead they sample data from visitors to some 40,000 web sites operated by their clients.
