Northern Softworks has released LockDown 1.0, a tool designed to bring high strength data encryption to Mac users. It uses the cryptography libraries of OpenSSL to make six industrial strength encryption ciphers available in a drag and drop application.
You can drop a file or folder into LockDown to encrypt it, or double click to decrypt it. The software also allows you to encrypt any clipboard contents including text, pictures, spreadsheets, and more.
LockDown is Universal Binary so runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel systems. It requires Mac OS X 10.3 or higher. It can be purchased in a bundle with Leopard Cache Cleaner for US$12.99.
