Rumors of Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ poor health “have been greatly exaggerated” with the head of Apple telling “a number of associates” that he’s doing well, according to The New York Times.
Concerns over the CEO’s health have negatively influenced Apple’s stock prices when, during a conference call announcing Apple’s latest (and great) financial results, Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer, said, in response to a question, that his boss’ health was a “private matter.” However, Jobs has told associates that four years after a successful operation to treat a rare form of pancreatic cancer, he is cancer free, according to The Times.
People who are close to Jobs say that he had a surgical procedure this year to address a problem that was contributing to a loss of weight. These people declined to be identified because the Apple head honcho hadn’t authorized them to speak about his health, The Times reports.
