The wRatings Corp., an independent competitive research firm, announced today the results of the annual Most Competitive Media & Telecom Study, which was sponsored by SAP AG, a provider of business software. Apple’s iTunes ranks number 16 in the media/web property category.
In the report, Verizon FiOS repeats in the top spot among telecom providers with a W Scor of 73.0. Two business segments of Google, their Shopping/Services and their Search engine, rank as the number one and number two media properties with W Scores of 88.8 and 88.2, respectively.
A W Score of 100 means the business built the highest consumer and economic advantages when compared with the 540-plus companies in the wRatings national coverage. iTunes has a W Score of 62.1 and rises from the 30th position in 2007 to number 16 for 2008.
