Mash-up artists and “wannabe” DJs should mark Saturday, Jan. 29, on their calendars. At that time Playlist, London’s free nightclub for “people who think music matters,” will be having a contest in which iPod shuffles and more will be given away as prizes.
Participants are invited to present 15-minutes of their finest sounds (carried on an iPod or other music player). DJs “who make the crowd move” are eligible for prizes; winners will be voted on by a panel of judges and will receive iPod shuffles and free drink vouchers. Those named as runners-up will receive iPod speakers. The event is sponsored by iPod World UK.
Anyone wishing to compete or watch the competition should show up at North London’s Progress Bar (162 Tufnell Park Road, London, N7 0EE). (Playlist Club is the event promotion, and Progress Bar is the venue the club promotion takes place at.) The competition starts at 9 p.m.
