iPhone coming to Canada in two weeks?

A Holt Renfrew insider has told DigitalJournal.com that the luxury retailer will be carrying the iPhone in Canada by mid-October.
The Holt Renfrew source says the 8GB phone will be a GSM phone, retailing across the country for $799. “Anyone familiar with the GSM market in Canada knows that Rogers is the leading GSM provider in the country,” DigitalJournal.com reports.

$799 is a very high price, especially given that the Canadian and U.S. dollars are almost equal in value these days. Should be in the $399-$499 CDN range to be a ‘fair price’.
