Introducing ‘Macsimum Top 10 Hot Articles’

imageRecently, we installed new Web traffic-monitoring software to track various statistics concerning Web traffic to Macsimum News. The software is still in beta, but does a phenomenal job in breaking down statistics in real-time. We can actually watch readers entering Macsimum News on a world map (see demo below) and tell exactly what part of the world they are from—including country, state and even the city.

We can also monitor what articles get read the most and also what type of information people are looking for via search engines. We are using this information to help us focus on the type of news Macsimum News readers are looking for the most.

Demo of Live Traffic

Now from time-to-time we’ll get a hot news article, review or opinion that gets a lot of traffic, but the day after we post it, it gets lost in the shuffle. As much as we wish our readers would come to Macsimum News daily so they wouldn’t miss any news, we know that’s just not realistic, so we decided to make a section on our homepage to profile 10 of these high-traffic articles for longer than just one day.

As you can see in the photo below, the “Macsimum Top 10 Hot Articles” are listed right under “Macsimum Poll” and above “Recent Articles.”
