iScienceProject, which specializes in portable data loggers for K-12 science education, has made US$500,000 worth of its HOBO Data Loggers available to U.S. schools on a two-month, temporary-loan basis.
HOBO data loggers, which are currently used by more than 25,000 teachers and students nationwide, are portable, electronic recording devices that monitor temperature, humidity, light, and other types of data. Compatible with both Mac OS X and Windows systems, HOBOware lets K-12 students convert data collected with HOBOs into colorful graphs. A point-and-click interface allows students to select environmental parameters to display, format graphs, and interpret the data. Each graph presents data in time-stamped format, enabling students to correlate the visual spikes and drops with specific events, such as furnaces turning on or classroom lights turning off.
Students can export data to Microsoft Excel, and print out graphs to present findings to teachers and parents. HOBOware supports a number of HOBO data loggers, including HOBO U-Series Loggers, HOBO Pendant Loggers, and HOBO Weather Stations. Teachers interested in borrowing HOBO data loggers can sign up on the iScienceProject web site.

Bill Frank Says:
I would like more information on the Science Project. How long of wait is it to receive the data loggers. Would this be for next fall?
Sincerely,
Bill Frank
