Earlier this month it was reported that global banking giant HSBC is considering ditching the BlackBerry and adopting Apple’s iPhone as its standard staff mobile device, a move that could result in an order for some 200,000 iPhones. However, a UK spokesperson for HSBC told Mobile News that this isn’t necessarily go.

“I don’t know if he was misquoted or if it was made up, but I can put the rumours to bed now and state there is no truth in it at all,” the article says. “It’s simply not going to happen.”

However, an HSBC Australia manager of group communications told Mobile News, “We always explore the potential application of new technologies and this is no different.”
