On May 6, 1998, Steve Jobs introduced the iMac to the world. It’s new “Bondi Blue” all-in-one design was colorful and futuristic compared to drab beige boxes. Even the mouse was totally new. Critics though, mocked the lack of expendability and the fact Apple abandoned serial and ADB ports, along with the floppy disk drive. What was Jobs thinking?
It’s funny looking back now after ten years and seeing just how everything has played out.
Below is a video of dapper Steve Jobs, all dressed up, introducing the iMac. Check out the specs of the iMac back then. Leopard’s operating system is larger than the original iMac’s hard drive. My, how far we have come and how much Steve has aged. What will be see ten years from now? You can bet it will be “phenomenal” if Steve has anything to say about it.
