I know, I know, Wouldn’t it be grand if the iPhone permitted copy and paste? Well, sadly, not yet. But how about something more realistic like growing me a third arm? Now, you can do that with the help of In Your Face.
“Give your arm a break! The viewbase makes on-the-go movie watching fun and easy. Just download a movie to your iPhone or iPod touch and watch it hands-free and up close. This innovative patent pending holder is ideal for hands-free video viewing and phone use.”
OK, call me crazy. Call me a loon. Call me a cab. But in my book, this product was best of show because it turned my iPhone into a no brainer purchase.
The Juice
The unit consists of a spring loaded jaw which clamps onto the mobile device of your choosing. It is supported by an aluminum gooseneck on which the whole package is mounted to a multi-purpose clamp. The secret is that bottom jaw of the clamp is hinged in the middle. So, now you can clamp the device to anything of any shape, flat surface, armrest, something cylindrical …
Once you have In Your Face clamped where you want it, then just pop in your mobile device and your ready to go!
The Pulp
The only thing that I would suggest is that an older hild or grown-up set this in place. Although the aluminum arm is pliable yet sturdy, practice several Boy Scout knots nd you could break it.mIt’s not fragile. But neither is a six year old!
What I find great about this is that it’s not dependent on suction cups, which after time turn that rusty brown color. (And that relaxing feeling knowing that your expensive iPhone is all snugly under your brake pedal.)
The Rind
Nada.
Summary
In Your Face was the brainchild (I kid you not) of a potato salesman (Think Different, eh?)
And where as I used to have to rummage about my pockets to find my iPhone, it is now always in the jaws of my trusted friend. I clamp it to my wheelchair arm. I clamp it to my van’s cup holder, to use as an iPod, iPhone or GPS. And if I need to take a break from driving, I pull over, flip the iPhone ninety degrees and watch Monk!
As I type this, I have it clamped to my desk, just to the right of my MacBook. This is whole different one trick pony. It kicks my iPhone’s ease of use up ay least two notches!
Ooh, boy! Now to screen calls at my leisure!
