MacJams – which offers informational resources, shopping guides, user discussion, news and other helpful services for musicians – is now providing free, unlimited song hosting to all Mac-using musicians. The hosting service lets them upload their original creations so that other musicians and music fans may listen, download, and critique the songs.
All songs submitted to the MacJams site are provided under a “Creative Commons” license, which allows others to freely listen, use and distribute the songs under certain conditions. Users who upload songs can also provide album art, lyrics, description and other information for each original composition.
MacJams is one of the largest online communities of amateur musicians. It has almost 7,000 registered users and almost 4,000 original compositions.
