First Office 2008 update set for March 11

The Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit (the MacBU) is finishing up the first Office 2008 update, 12.0.1, which contains fixes for high-priority issues they’ve identified. The Mac BU is targeting a March 11 release date, which will automatically be available via Microsoft Auto Update, and as a download from Mactopia.

Yes, it’s a higher priority to fix bugs in the latest version of Office, than it is to polish up the converter’s necessary for the old version of Office to read the default file format of the latest version.  Cuz that way, they can sucker more people into upgrading.
