eMedia Music Corp. has released version 4.0 of Guitar Method Vol. 1, a training solution for the beginning guitarist. The new version includes a more intuitive interface, improved high-quality audio and video, and new fretboard skins. It has over 160 lessons and more than 50 high-resolution large format videos.
Kevin Garry (Ph.D., University of Colorado-Boulder) guides you through the lessons, which include over 70 songs from various musical styles such as rock, folk, and classical. eMedia Guitar Method covers the basics, such as stringing and tuning your guitar, and moves on to playing chords, reading tablature, and understanding music notation. eMedia Guitar Method allows you to learn at your own pace. There are bonus accessories, including a digital metronome, chord dictionary, automatic tuner, and digital recorder.
Version 4.0 of eMedia Guitar Method Vol. 1 is available at computer and music retail stores for an estimated retail price of US$59.95. The CD-ROM is a hybrid for both Mac OS X (10.1 and higher) and Windows (98/2000/NT/Me/XP/Vista). A free downloadable demo of Guitar Method is available online.
