Digidesign announces Pro Tools 7.4, more

imageDigidesign has announced several products at the Audio Engineering Society Convention (AES) , which runs Oct. 5-8 in New York at the Jacob K. Javitz Center. One is Pro Tools 7.4, which features the “time-manipulating power” of Elastic Time. It also has increased support for Avid video and shared storage solutions to streamline the workflow between audio and video editors.

Digidesign also debuted the new 24-channel Digidesign C|24 control surface (shown), which is designed to give you hands-on control of Pro Tools recording and mixing as well as a n array of high-quality analog inputs. Plus, it has a 5.1 analog monitor section to wrap around your Pro Tools I/O.

Also new is the ICON D-Control ES worksurface, which offers the same workflows, and Pro Tools|HD integration as the original D-Control. It also features updated graphics for better visibility in low light, and an improved switch color layout for easier visual navigation.

Finally, Digidesign made two announcements for its Advanced Instrument Research (A.I.R.) group product line. The Digidesign Virtual Instrument Box Set offers a collection of the current five A.I.R. virtual instruments. If you’re a Structure, Structure LE, or Structure Free user, EastWest Symphonic Orchestra Gold Complete—Structure Edition provides an orchestral ensemble at your beck and call.
