DataMind Srl has announced Jade Plugin 2.0, an update of the digital image processing plug-in for Aperture, Apple’s software for professional photographers.
The plug-in includes the same algorithms as DataMind’s digital image processing applications, Jade and Beryl. It implements algorithms to enhance color, contrast and dynamic range and remove red-eye effect.
In addition, Jade provides manual controls to fine-tune the intensity value, increase the contrast and apply the colour correction for unbalanced images. The red-eye removal can be tuned by setting the threshold level, the intensity of correction and by directly selecting the eye or image area to be corrected.
Jade requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 or higher and Apple Aperture 2.1 or later. It costs approximately US$75. A 30-day demo is available for download. A discount for version 2.0 is offered to customers who have purchased a Jade 1.x application license.
