imageDataMind Srl has released Jade Plugin 1.0, a digital image processing plug-in for Apple’s Aperture app for professional photographers. Jade Plug-in uses the same identical algorithms and parameters as DataMind’s Jade digital image processing application.

It implements algorithms to enhance color, contrast and dynamic range. To work with digital images in Aperture, just load them in Jade, click a button and save the result. Jade will use its proprietary algorithms to enhance color, contrast and dynamics, while preserving the overall quality of the images, according to the folks at DataMind. In addition, Jade also provides manual controls to fine-tune intensity values, the contrast of the image and the color correction for unbalanced images.

Jade Plugin 1.0 is Universal Binary so runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel Macs. It requires Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”) or higher and Aperture 2.1 or later.

Jade Plugin 1.0 is offered in both Standard and Pro versions, and is available as a full-featured, 30-day demo. Jade Standard is $19.99 Euro, and Jade Plugin Pro is $49.99 Euro. A discount is offered to customers who have purchased a Jade 1.x application license.
